Hi CityLover readers,
Happy Leap Day! Leap Day occurs every four years. Leap Day is super important because without it, we would be twenty-four days off within 100 years (A century). While the calendar holds 365 days, in a year, the Earth orbits the Sun, but it actually takes a little bit longer. In reality, it takes 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes, and 46 seconds for the Earth to orbit the Sun. That's about six hours so if we add one more day to the calendar every four years, our calendar will be in sync with the seasons.

Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Michigan Wolverines
Today my dad and I went to a women's basketball game. It was so interesting!
First, my dad and I got the tickets and went to our seating area. The game had already started, but we only missed about five minutes of it because the ticket line was so long. As we got seated, the score was horrible for Iowa. Michigan was winning! (I don't exactly remember the score.) But with the cheerleaders' chants, the band's bolstering songs, and the audiences' yelling, bellowing, clapping, and cheering, Iowa finally caught up to Michigan. In fact, Iowa was in the lead! The Michigan Wolverines never caught up to "The Hawkeye State" and the Hawkeyes won with the score of 79-71!
But wait! That's not it! It turned out that on the screens, there were seat numbers that showed the winners. And my seat number was on the screen so I won some women basketball cards, a bag, a water bottle, a Hawkeye key chain, a bobble head of Megan Considine, and of course, a basketball!

Happy Presidents' Day!
Happy Presidents' Day, CityLover readers!
Presidents' Day is always on the third Monday of February. It's also known as George Washington's birthday, but records show that his birthday was actually on February 22.
Anyway, Happy Presidents' Day!
