Lunar Eclipse

Almost a full moon. At the top left hand corner, you can see part of the Earth's shadow.

Yesterday I wathced a lunar eclipse! A lunar eclipse is when the Earth's shadow is  on the moon and you no longer see the moon. Here are some pictures I took of a lunar eclipse.

You can watch the lunar eclipse with the naked eye but you cannot do the same for a solar eclipse otherwise, you will go blind.
The next total lunar eclipse is October 8th, 2014.
One thing that I noticed this time is that not all parts of the USA could see the total eclipse; only the western states could.
In this picture, the moon has turned more orange and you can see the Earth's shadow better.
Now you can barely see the moon but you can see that it's still a little bit orange.
