My Review on the Hunger Games (The Movie)

On Friday night, I watched the Hunger Games with my two very good friends. For the whole day, we put our hair in braids (for Katniss) and at the movie theater, we put cool mockingjay pins on along with the braid.

Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) bravely steps up and takes her sister's place, Primrose, (Willow Shields) in the Hunger Games. Her best friend, Gale Hawthorne (Liam Hemsworth) promises Katniss that he will protect her family. One thing that Katniss is extremely talented at is hunting.

At the reaping, (Where you announce the tributes for your district) Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks) makes Katniss team up with the baker's son, Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) and together, they ride to the Capitol, where everything is grand and the people look different. Katniss and Peeta meet their crew, which includes Cinna (Lenny Kravitz), the stylist, and Haymitch (Woody Harrelson), their drunk mentor.

At the training arena, she meets friends, as well as enemies. Once she gets into the Hunger Games, she knows who to avoid and who to trust. She tries to avoid Cato (Alexander Ludwig) and Clove (Isabelle Fuhrman), the mean tributes.

My favorite character is Cinna because he's kind and he seems wise. If I had to rate this movie between 1-10, I'd rate it a 8.5 because the when they put the fire on Katniss and Peeta when they're in the chariot, it looked very artificial. And when the muttations (creatures similar to dogs but more frightening) came, they just looked like pit bulls and not as they described it in the book.

Don't be worried if you think there are too many characters and you won't understand it when you watch the movie, but once you get the visual, I'm pretty sure you be fine. : )

But overall, it was a very great movie and I hope you have a chance to see it.
